We need to get a grass roots movement going with the people of this country and take back the government. I know we all are busy with supporting our families and have little time for politics but, we have let other people run our government into the ground and it is time to take it back.

Here are some ways you can get involved that take very little time on your part, but will make a big difference.

Contact your County Clerk's Office and make sure you are still on the active voter list. If not get to the Clerk's Office, the Department of Motor Vehicles, or contact someone like myself that is a Deputy Registrar and get registered. We need to get involved by making sure we vote every time there is an election and vote for those that have our interests in mind no matter what party they belong to. I know my party won't like that but, we need to keep a balance of power in the government and not let one party have all the control again.

When someone knocks on your door with a petition to put someone on the primary ballot, sign it no matter what party it is for and lets get some choices on the ballot.

If you can help the candidate you believe in by supporting them with money, do it so they don't have to get the money they need from corporations or groups that will then pressure them into supporting that group's ideas.

Spread the ideas of the candidate you believe in to others to get the votes they need to get elected. Believe it or not but someone telling someone else about a candidate is the best advertisement.

If you have some time you can give, here are some more ways to help.

Become a Precinct Committeeman for your area. By becoming a Committeeman you can help in the following ways:

1. Get signatures for the candidates of your party to get them on the primary ballot.

2. After a candidate wins the primary, get out and pass their flyers out. Again you are the best advertisement for a candidate.

3. Help make sure people get out to vote.

4. Help get people registered to vote.

5. Help the elderly get a ride to the polling place in their neighborhood.

6. Help your neighbors get to the right people in government when they need help.

You won't believe the feeling you'll get from just doing numbers 4 to 6. I Think they are the best part of the job.
